PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Lalbag Jame Mosjid complex interior design, exterior facade showcases a harmonious combination of intricate geometric patterns, elegant calligraphy. Space acts as both the distributing element of the main living spaces and circulation but also as a principal element of the environmental control of the mosque. Through this element, the air circulation can be drawn through the mosque and extracted from openings in the roof light. The buildings are clustered around several landscaped courtyards and connected through a series of vaulted walkways and arcades as well as supporting facilities. For this project we designed landscaped gardens. This layout creates the effect of continuous views onto landscaped areas and the feeling that each of the main living spaces is a sort of pavilion in a green environment but linked to the other spaces through walkways which are also part of this interaction with the gardens. This concept is relevant not only in terms of its visual context but also in terms of the environmental quality that it presents. The mosque is very permeable and can be easily ventilated by opening up whole walls to encourage the flow of air something which is crucial in hot and humid climates.
