A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and Innovate Engineering and Development (IED), taking a significant step toward improving practical learning opportunities for students. According to a press release, the MoU, signed during the inaugural Industry-Academia Collaboration Meet-2023 (IACM) on Thursday at Ruet Auditorium, symbolizes a key partnership promoting practical work experience for students in RUET's architecture, building construction, and management departments. The agreement was signed by RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Eng. Md. Jahangir Alam and IED Chief Executive Officer Engr. Rana Masud. Professor Dr. Kamruzzaman Ripon, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Md. Farooq Hossain, Director of IQAC, Professor Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), and Professor Dr. Md. Salim Hossain, among others, spoke at the collaboration meeting. In his address to the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Eng. Md. Jahangir Alam emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration between industry experts and academia in developing skilled human resources, particularly in the context of Bangladesh's transition to the fourth industrial revolution. He indicated his intention to organize more substantial Industry-Academia Collaboration Meets at RUET in the future. Eng. Rana Masud, CEO of IED, expressed the company's commitment to bridging the gap between academic knowledge obtained at universities and the practical skills required by companies. He emphasized the essential hands-on experience that students may obtain from IED during or after their education, putting them in a better position to enter the industry. Innovate Engineering and Development agreed to give students with international qualifications, practical expertise, and chances for internships or attachments under the parameters of the MoU. This collaborative endeavor strives to provide students with a well-rounded skill set, boosting their professional preparation. The IACM event witnessed the participation of several other companies, reinforcing the commitment of various sectors to contribute to the advancement of education and industry collaboration in Bangladesh.
